The Project
This project was part of an emergency repair to structural steel columns that had corroded due to exposure to water and salt. The building had begun to suffer deformations and distress that required the building owner to vacate the office building.

Challenges and Results
The building owner retained Steele Foundation to design and install temporary structural shoring to repair 14 existing steel columns, due to steel column deterioration and buckling. The shoring consisted of field-fabricated, pre-loaded steel frames welded to the existing columns and supported on timber pads.
