The July/August 2023 issue of Deep Foundations magazine features Steele Foundation LLC’s award-winning pre-construction foundation work that helped transform a historical city block in Washington, D.C. The landmark project, known as Collection 14, preserved the character and culture of the historic neighborhood while revitalizing the block with modern construction elements. The complexity of the project, coupled with difficult subsurface conditions. required specialized and extensive sheeting, shoring and underpinning work. Steele Foundation’s deep foundation solutions were honored with a 2021 Craftsmanship Award from the Washington Building Congress.

Ron Steele has directed field operations of the regionally owned and operated design and construction foundation consulting firm since he founded it in 1968. He is succeeded in leadership of the firm by his son, President J. Andrew (Andy) Steele, P.E., D. GE.
